- Make ready 2 cup Penne pasta
- Take 1 1/2 cup broccoli cut into small florets
- Prepare 2 baby corns cut into 1/2 inch vertical dices
- Prepare 4-6 cloves Garlic finely chopped
- Get 3 tomatoes
- Get 1 tbsp red chilli flakes
- Prepare 1 tsp mixed herbs dried
- Make ready 1 tsp black pepper corns, coarsely pounded
- Take to taste Salt
- Make ready 1 pinch sugar
- Take 3 tbsp olive oil
- Get as needed Basil leaves optional
- Prepare 1 tbsp parsley
- Get as needed Parmesan cheese (recommend) / regular cheese for garnishing
The secret of Arrabbiata is the balance between the freshness taste of tomatoes and parsley, and the. If you like heat then you've gotta try this healthy pasta sauce. Homemade tomato sauce with crushed red pepper and lots of garlic. Penne Arrabbiata is spicy, saucy, and so easy!
Instructions to make Arrabbiata:
- Blanch the veggies and keep aside. Then, blanch the tomatoes and take off the skin of the tomatoes. Once you are done with the blanching process, cut the tomatoes and remove the seeds. After that, finely mince the deseeded tomatoes or purée them.
- Now we need to cook the pasta. In a large pot, add water and bring it to a boil. Once the water has boiled,add in a teaspoon of salt and a dash of olive oil incase if you are using freshly made pasta.
- Add the pasta to the boiling water. Let it cook in the boiling water until it's "al' denté" (just cooked). This process should take a good 8-10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, place a pan on medium heat. Add olive oil and garlic. Sauté for a few seconds. Add the tomatoes/purée. Cook them for a few minutes.
- Add all the spices. (Chilli flakes, pepper, salt, sugar, mixed herbs, parsley and basil leaves). Cook it well till the sauce comes together and you can smell the beautiful aroma in the air. :)
- When pasta is cooked for 10 minutes by the clock, take them out and add straight to the Arrabbiata sauce.
- Toss them gently a few times. Make sure the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
- Turn off the gas. Transfer the beautiful pasta to a serving dish. Add a dash of Extra virgin olive oil. Sprinkle the parmesan cheese on top with a little bit of parsley. Serve hot.

Hello….ive made this arrabbiata sauce several times and its just fabulous! We like hot sauces so I do add quite a bit of chilli to the recipe. This simple, quick and spicy supper can be prepared with minimum fuss. But how 'angry' do you dare to make it?
